It seems to me like everyone is trying to host an event this week. Now, I just need to clone myself so I can attend them all. Here are a list of our favorites.
March 18 – Grass Restaurant and Lounge will be hosting a South Africa Tasting. Take a journey through the different wine styles and varietals of South Africa, while enjoying Chef Micah’s sexy food pairings. Seven wines and seven bites will be served. March 18 – Savor the Avenue is back and it is bigger than ever! This fabulous epicurean event, which benefits The Office Depot Foundation, features Florida’s longest dining table, along Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach, Florida, on Thursday evening, March 18, 2010. Over 1000 people will dine, on delicious four-course meals with Santa Rita wines, prepared by 18 of Delray Beach’s wonderful downtown restaurants (including The Office, Vic & Angelo’s, Lemongrass, Boston’s, 32 East, etc.).
March 19 — Paradiso Ristorante, home to master chef and owner Angelo Romano, presents a fantastic wine dinner with Black Coyote (recently awarded the Best of the Best at the Key Biscayne Wine, Food & Silent Auction) and Robledo Wines. Vanessa Robledo, partner from Black Coyote and member of the Robledo family, will be at the dinner to walk you through the tasting. There will be a sparkling reception at 6:30 pm, followed by a 4-course dinner. Cost is $100 all-inclusive and reservations can be made by calling 561.547.2500. (More details)
March 20 – MacKenzie-Childs of Palm Beach is hosting a fundraiser, Sweets for a Cause to benefit the American Red Cross. This gourmet bake sale will feature sweet treats for a variety of Palm Beach’s pastry chefs including Woofgang Bakery, The Chesterfield Hotel, Sugar Kiss and A Cupcake Heaven. They will also be holding a raffle to win fabulous items from MacKenzie-Childs including a “Honeymoon” Cake Stand, a cashmere scarf and a leather handbag. March 20 – Wine, Dine, and Design is the first annual cultural event of its kind in Palm Beach Gardens. The affair on March 20th will encompass an interior design showcase, art, food, wine, and more. Mingle with your neighbors and world renowned wine makers while browsing the decorator showcase and enjoying live music and dancing. Cost is $30 for the wine and food portion, the arts portion is free to attend. A portion of the proceeds will go to benefit the American Cancer Society and Damon Runyon Cancer Research Society. March 21 – The Cape Cod Room will host its monthly “Hybrid” Buffet Brunch on March 21 (and on April 4). Kick things off with a brunch cocktail, a lavish display of croissants, bagels, yogurts, fruits and cheese combined with scrumptious hot plate selections like the Lobster Stew of Cream Cheese Stuffed French Toast. March 22 – Indulge in Gotham Steak’s 3-course prix-fixe sunset menu any Sunday-Thursday in March. This $49 dinner (or $79 dinner with wine pairings) is available at the 6:00 and 6:30 pm seatings. Enjoy Gotham Steak’s specialties like Lobster Bisque, Filet Mignon, Scottish Salmon and Homemade Doughnuts. Call 877-326-7412 to make your reservations. March 23 – Eve Ensler will be discussing and signing copies of her book, I am an Emotional Creature: The Secret Lives of Girls Around the World at Temple Judea on March 23 at 7:30 pm to benefit the girls of Casa Valentina and V-Day’s Haiti Rescue Fund. Tickets are required and are $10 for general admission for 1 available at Books & Books and Casa Valentina. More options are available through Casa Valentina.
