Your favorite chefs have been feeding you kindly with tasteful delights all weekend long, you’ve indulged in a never-ending flow of your favorite vino and you’ve sworn to yourself the diet starts tomorrow. You know, come Monday, you’ll be wanting more delicious flavors to feed your body. Mark your calendar now for these tempting events that are coming your way during the month of March.

Feast with the Beasts – March 5, 2010

Make your palates dance with joy at this year’s Feast with the Beasts. Set in a jungle-like setting at the Miami Metrozoo with your favorite wild animals, your senses will in heaven as you feast on palate pleasers from the area’s top  restaurants like Azul, Canyon Ranch, Meat Market, Gotham Steak and Caffe Abbracci. Sample cuisine, enjoy libations and be in awe as you watch fire breathers, fire dancers and belly dancers move the crowd. At 10:00 pm, the dance party begins, so don’t forget your dancing shoes.

Feast with the Beasts takes place on March 5, 2010, at the Miami Metrozoo, 12400 Southwest 152nd Street, Miami. The event begins at 7:00 pm for VIP and 8:00 pm for general admission. Tickets are $175 for general admission and $225 for VIP.

Fenadegas’ Annual Miami Tasting – March 8, 2010

Smith & Wollensky will be home to over 100 wines from Portugal on Monday, March 8. This first Fenadegas’ Wine Tasting (soon to be an annual event) will bring an unlimited sampling of over 100 whites, reds and roses to the terrace at Smith & Wollensky. Pair that with some mouth-watering hors d’oeuvres from Smith & Wollensky and you’re in for a real treat. This event goes to benefit the American Institute of Wine & Food (AIWF).

Fenadegas’ Annual Miami Tasting takes place on Monday, March 8, 2010. Tickets are $25 (or $20 when you enter the code WINE). The event takes place at Smith & Wollensky, 1 Washington Ave, Miami Beach. Visit localwineevents.com to buy your tickets.

American Fine Wine Competition Gala – March 13

If you’re looking to take yourself on a magical wine fantasy, check out this year’s American Fine Wine Competition Gala. This gala is a celebration  of the award winners from the American Fine Wine Competition, where over 500 highly exclusive wines were entered. The wines will be paired with gourmet delights prepared by chefs – Johnny Vinczencz (Johnny V’s), Michael Wagner (Lola’s on Harrison), Oliver Saucy (Cafe Maxx), Cindy Hutson (Ortanique on the Mile) and Juan Velasquez (Paradiso). The event begins at 6:00 pm with a sparkling reception and dinner begins at 7:00 pm. A silent auction will also be held to raise funds for the American Red Cross, Quantum House and the scholarship program at Lincoln Culinary Institute.

The American Fine Wine Competition Gala takes place on Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Lincoln Culinary Institute, 2410 Metrocentre Blvd, West Palm Beach. Tickets are $195 per person. Call 561.504.8463 for more information.

Boca Bacchanal – March 19-21

The acclaimed Boca Bacchanal will take place the weekend of March 19-21. This weekend long event combines vintner dinners in private residences on Friday night, The Bacchanal and auction on Saturday (bringing together the chefs, vintners, combined with a silent auction and lavish dinner) at the Boca Raton Resort & Club and a grand tasting and wine seminar on Sunday at Mizner. This event goes to benefit the Historic Preervation and Heritage Education Programs of the Boca Raton Historical Society. The vintner dinner is sold out.

Wine, Dine + Design – March 20

What happens when you combine vintners, chefs, artists and designers? You have Wine, Dine & Design. This cultural event begins with an artist showcase at 3:00pm, combined with musical performances and entertainment. At 5:00 pm, the tasting portion begins, where you will be able to meet the vintners and mingle with the area’s top chefs. Winemakers who will be present include Deerfield Ranch Winery, Tobacco Road, Robledo Family Winery, Black Coyote, Derbes and more.

Wine, Dine and Design takes place from 3:00-8:00 pm on March 20, 2010, at STORE Self and Wine Storage, 11010 North Military Trail, Palm Beach Gardens. Tickets to the art portion are free and $25 in advance ($30 at the door, if available) if you’d like to experience the food and wine.
