Celebrate Mother’s Day at The Farm

Soak in the green lush foliage, pecan trees and fragrant herb gardens of The Farm at South Mountain in Phoenix with your mom on Sunday, May 9th, Mother’s Day.

Named one of the “10 great places for a leisurely holiday brunch” by USA Today, The Farm at South Mountain (map) is a favorite escape of mine that makes you forget that you’re in the middle of the desert. It’s a refreshing change not to be amongst the typical drought resistant plants like cactus, ocotillo and the like. The Farm is a 12-acre oasis of grass lawns, picnic tables and canopies of pecan trees just eight minutes from downtown Phoenix. While you’re there take the opportunity to explore organic gardens, their three award-winning restaurants, an art gallery/studio, fine art/crafts shop and health & wellness retreat.

A large white canopy will be set up in the middle of their famous pecan groves for guests to enjoy a fantastic brunch consisting of an omelette station, chilled shrimp, several salads, pecan French toast, short ribs and fresh baked pastries and desserts. Here is the full menu for more details.

If brunch is not your preference, you can choose to eat at Morning Glory Cafe or The Farm Kitchen and sit at one of the many picnic tables that cover the grounds.

Remember to wear a hat and sunscreen and delight in a wonderful outdoor adventure for your whole family.
