Free tastings on the Regents Canal

Fancy exploring the Regents Canal and being a foodie at the same time? On Sunday, you’ll get your chance, with a free tasting trail all the way along the East London stretch of the canal.

The River Rat Pack will be playing music from the top of a boat, and sixteen different cafes and restaurants along (or close to) the waterside will be open to offer provisions for the intrepid explorers who are tackling the three mile walk. (You can cycle the towpath, too.)

Download and print out the brochure to claim your free tastings -or pick up a brochure from the British Waterways tent outside the Mile End Ecology Centre.

The cuisine you can taste includes Turkish meze, French bistro-style, sarnies, Sunday roasts, sushi and Italian – a superb mix. There are quite a few opportunities to try cakes and pastries, too.

When: 12-4, 23 August

Where: Regents Canal, from Shoreditch to Limehouse Basin
