Toy Story 3 Breaking All Records

If you still haven’t seen the latest Disney/Pixar animated film, Toy Story 3, you may be part of a narrowing crowd as the film continues to break box office records around the world.  Buzz, Woody and the whole toy chest gang, can give each other a high-five, as Toy Story 3 has become the highest grossing animated film of all time.

Continuing to charm audiences world wide especially Latin America, Japan and the United Kingdom, Toy Story 3 ranks number one in the box office in those global markets.  Released in the United States on June 18, it remains very popular with theater goers.

Based on the original characters we fell in love with in 1995 when we were introduced to the lovable cowboy, Woody and his space ranger friend, Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story, as well as the new friends we met in Toy Story 2, Toy Story 3 brings the toys full circle as their best friend Andy is headed off to college.

Full of very touching moments, yes, I will admit it I cried, the third movie in the series also offers plenty of laughs and adventure.   And trust me when I say that you will rush home at break neck speed to comb the attics and closets for those beloved toys from your own past.

In case you can’t get to the theater it won’t be long before you can take home a DVD or Blu-ray disc as Disney Home Studios has announced the release date of November 2.

For those fans of the trilogy of toys that just can’t get enough of these cuddly friends and their adventures , several of your favorite characters  from Toy Story including Woody, Buzz, Jessie and the new bear that you love to hate, Lots -o Huggin’, are available throughout the day for park guests to meet, pose for photos and sign autographs at Walt Disney World and Disneyland (map).

Feel like you are part of the gang as you enter the world of Toy Story Mania at Disney’s Hollywood Studios (map) and  at Paradise Pier at Disney’s California Adventure park (map).   Here you can play4-D arcade style games and have adventures with all your Toy Story pals all from the comfort of your carnival car. Although points are recorded, remember, no matter what your skill level, everyone is a winner at these games.

The spring action shooter will have you throwing eggs at barnyard friends in a game hosted by Hamm the lovable piggy bank.  Rex and Trixie will cheer you on as you throw dino darts at primeval targets and just wait til you see what happens with a successful ring tossed around the neck of a 3-eyed alien.

Don’t forget Buzz could use a hand defeating  Emperor Zurg and his band of evil robots  at Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin in the Tomorrowland section of Magic Kingdom (map) or Buzz Lightyear Astro Blaster at Disneyland Park. Using your lasers, put a stop to these robots as they are out to steal the batteries from good toys everywhere.

I have found there is nothing more fun or addicting, as you hear your little ray gun pinging away.  Sitting beside my daughter as I proudly watched my score mounting, I noticed hers climbing even higher, and it became an all out war.  It was no longer a quest to defeat Emperor Zurg, but a competition to blast passed my sweet angel’s high score!

If all this adventure has you hungry, how about grabbing lunch in Tomorrowland at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, or Pizza Planet at Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers individual pizzas and arcade games reminiscent of a scene from the original Toy Story.

Out west in Disneyland, eat like Woody and Jessie and all their cowboy friends at Big Thunder Ranch BBQ at an all-you-can-eat barbecue feast including chicken, ribs, cole slaw and ranch beans.  This barbecue blowout also features toe-tapping country music and western hospitality at lunch and dinner.  Although dessert is not included in the dining experience, you will want to save room for Miss Chris’ Cupcakes and other sensational sweets.

For tickets to the theme parks at Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World.  Dining reservations at Big Thunder Ranch can be made by calling  (714) 781-DINE.
