Jagjit Singh – Live in Concert

Possibly the most listened to and well known Ghazal singer is visiting Delhi this weekend. Jagjit Singh has been entertaining listeners from the late 70s and has released several albums of the years. He’s also given music to several Bollywood movies. This evergreen singer seems to simply go on and on. This is a must watch event for this weekend. Apart from the smooth tone of his Ghazals, the instrument players, such as the Tabla and Violin players, are always a pleasure to listen to.

The last time I went to one of his concert’s, the Tabla player and the Violinist had 15 minutes to themselves. They played their hearts out to an applauding audience. Apart from the audience, Jagjit himself was pleased.

About Jagjit Singh

Jagjit Singh, a Ghazal singer, music director, composer, and activist, came to fame to in 1976 with the launch of the The Unforgettables. Since then, he hasn’t looked back and released several albums and gave music and/or lyrics to numerous Indian movies, such as Joggers Park and Veer Zaara. His unique style has earned him one of the highest civilian awards, Padma Bhushan, from the Government of India.

Apart from singing, the maestro also supports various philanthropic endeavors such as the library at St. Mary’s School, Mumbai, Bombay Hospital, CRY, Save the Children and ALMA.
