Fresh Cafe

Fresh Cafe has long been a place I’d wanted to try out, and now that I’ve been there several times to catch up on work I think I have a good sense of this hip new cafe in Kaka’ako.

Both times I’ve been I brought my pug Iris, and we sat outside on the patio by the parking.  There are also three tables that front Queen street as well as some indoor seating.  There’s a gallery/garage/party space behind the kitchen, where garage sales and private parties are held.  About 8 parking stalls allow customers to conveniently pull in for a quick visit or stay for a while.

I’ve tried the sesame tofu salad, the ginger wasabi chicken salad, some bagel sandwiches and the chicken pesto pasta and both are quite tasty.  Their flavored iced teas are the bomb, but they also have cool local teas that have coconut or macadamia nut (yum!).

Fresh is known more for their bagels, though, which they sell for $2 each.  I purchased a blueberry and a strawberry and wish I could tell you how they tasted but Iris gobbled them down before I could try them!

The great thing about Fresh Cafe is their hours.  They’re open nearly as late as after-hour clubs!

I’d definitely recommend the Fresh Cafe for a place to relax, hang out with friends, or catch up on some reading and studying!  The cafe is located among the warehouses in Kaka’ako but close enough to Ward Center and within walking distance from Ala Moana Beach Park.   If you are looking for a nice, convenient place to grab lunch and check your email, this is it!
