Meet, Plan, Go! Seattle Event on September 14th

Have you ever dreamed of quitting your 9-to-5 work life to set out on a great adventure to see the world?  Round-the-world travel is not just for college kids anymore, and whether you want to become location independent permanently, or just take a bit of a career break, September 14th, 2010 is an important day to mark on your calendar.

Meet Plan Go Seattle Meet, Plan, Go! wants to start a nationwide movement raising awareness about extended travel and career breaks.  They’ve created events across the country that will be held on the same day giving attendees a chance to meet like-minded travelers in their geographic regions.  It’s an opportunity to get motivated about long term travel, find the contacts and resources that you’ll need to plan a trip of a lifetime, and start a plan to move forward and actually do it!  In other words, it’s a chance to learn how to turn your dream into a reality.

Career breaks, gap years, and other types of extended travel are popular in the United Kingdom, Australia, and New Zealand, but somehow seem to have missed the mark here in the United States.  Reverse that trend by making plans for your own travels, whether it’s a career break, sabbatical, spiritual sojourn, extended round-the-world trip, or a gap year of your own.

Meet, Plan, Go! will have meeting places around the country to have launch this travel mind-set, featuring local travels who have done extended travel or who are in the planning stages of their trips.  Here in Seattle, Betsy and Warren Talbot will host the evening’s event which will feature speakers and experts who can address the difficult issues of saving money, storing/selling your stuff, protecting your career, and how to plan your trip of a lifetime.  Information will be available for travelers of all ages, from 20-something singles to families with kids to mature Baby Boomers

Are you interested in extended travel?  How long would you like to travel?
