Pour on the Plaza Partners Great Wine & Food

There’s nothing that I like more than good food, good wine, and good friends, and when I can combine those three with good cause it has the making of a perfect plan.  And that’s just what will happen at the 2nd Annual Pour on the Plaza which offers some of the region’s most impressive wineries and restaurants in a tasting event that supports terrific organization Room to Read.  Room to read promotes literacy and gender equality in developing countries in Asia and Africa.

Pour on the Plaza is sponsored by El Gaucho Bellevue, situated right at City Center Plaza.  While I’ve not been to this restaurant location, El Gaucho has long been my favorite Seattle steakhouse.  So when I heard about this event I was excited before I even heard about the other restaurants participating:  Grand Cru, Palomino, and Wild Ginger.  The restaurants will be offering an assortment of appetizers to accompany your wine tasting.

There’s an impressive list of wineries participating, so chance are you’ll be able both find a favorite or two as well as discover some new finds.  Here’s what you can expect:

  • Alexandria Nicole Cellars
  • Andrew Will
  • Barons V
  • Col Solare
  • Darby Winery
  • DeLille Cellars
  • Domaine Drouhin
  • Domaine Serene
  • Dunham Cellars
  • EFESTĒ
  • Elevation Cellars
  • Fidelitas
  • Gorman Winery
  • Lachini Vineyards
  • L’Ecole
  • Long Shadows
  • Mark Ryan Winery
  • Northstar
  • Novelty Hill
  • Pepper Bridge
  • Sparkman Cellars
  • Stevens Winery
  • SYZYGY
  • Va Piano Vineyards
  • Woodhouse Family Cellars
  • Woodward Canyon

I was happy two see a few of my favorite wineries participating (Andrew Will, DeLille Cellars and SYZYGY), and also looking forward to tasting wine from a few that are new to me (Fidelitas, Barons V, and Lachina Vineyards).

Jazz guitarist and vocalist Brian Nova will entertain.

I’ve got this on my calendar, and hope that if good wine and food interest you as much as it does me, that I’ll see you there.
