Las Paginas Verdes (The Green Pages) is a directory of sustainable products and services for businesses and consumers throughout Mexico City.  Whether you live in Mexico City or are just passing through, it’s a helpful guide to going green in the capital.  The guide includes listings for a variety of categories including food and drink, energy, consulting services, restaurants, shopping, transportation and tourism services.

It’s also useful if you’re going to be traveling througout the country as the listings include sustainable and eco-friendly businesses, products and services across Mexico.  The website includes information specifically geared toward travelers including eco-friendly tours, hotels and tourism services.

Print copies of Las Paginas Verdes annual guide are available for home delivery for a donation of MX$90 ($7.20). The information included in the guide is also available free of cost on the Las Paginas Verdes website.  Website visitors can join the online community and take advantage of special promotions and discounts on sustainable goods and services offered by the organization and its partners.

Las Paginas Verdes organizes an annual EcoFest event which takes place in mid-March in Mexico City.  It was reported that more than 25,000 people came out to this year’s event which was held on March 13, 2010 in Chapultepec Park.  The festival highlights sustainable products and services that are available in the capital and encourages social and environmental responsibility.  EcoFest is an all-day outdoor festival featuring music, culture and entertainment for the whole family.
