Escape and Indulge at One Ocean Resort in Atlantic Beach, Florida

It’s only natural to want to indulge while on vacation.

And for many, the most obvious place to do this is at a hotel

oneoceanone Situated in Atlantic Beach, Fla., (only minutes away from Jacksonville), One Ocean Hotel Resort and Spa (map) positions itself to be the ultimate (and more importantly, affordable) stay for every type of traveler. Located at the end of Beaches Town Center , the 193-room property is an escape within itself.

An escape that begins even before you arrive.

Two of One Ocean Resort’s (many) unique qualities that sets them apart is their guest historian and docent services.

Once reservations are made, a guest historian will contact you to find out about your likes, such as snacks, newspapers and even pillows. Let them know if there’s a celebration or special reason for your stay, and they’ll assist in making the overall experience extra-special.

When it comes to a docent, don’t automatically think it equals concierge, because this is a step above. Every floor is assigned a docent who will greet you at check-in and escort you to your room. They are also available during your stay to address any needs and concerns, such as making dinner reservations, finding off-site activities or needing a restock in your amenity cabinet.

As for the property itself, rest assured whichever room type you select, you’ll be greeted with a prime view of the Atlantic. However tempting it may be to stay inside the room, don’t or you’ll miss out on another unique feature: the art. Not only is there The Gallery, but also pieces of art through the entire property. You see, One Ocean isn’t a property where you rush from place to place. It’s meant to be taken in at a leisurely pace.

If you’re looking to pamper yourself or that someone special you’re with, there’s theoneoceanthree Spa at One Ocean. Choose from such treatments (PDF) Mother of Pearl Scrub or a Treasure of the Sea Massage. For fitness-enthusiast, you can workout and/or a class like sunrise yoga or tai chi.

Children will also enjoy staying at One Ocean. After one visit to the Sea Turtle Kids Club, they will be asking you how soon can they go back. And with good reason, just check out their offerings that include outdoor movie nights, themed parties and much more.

Then there’s the dining.

Oh, yes, the dining.

There’s everything from 24-hour room-service to a pool bar and grill. There’s even a spa juice bar. You can’t stay at One Ocean without having at least one meal (since it’s a vacation, make it two) at Azurea. Trust me, you won’t be disappointed, especially if you order the warm chocolate cake for dessert. But I digress. The property’s signature restaurant serves both lunch and dinner, serving seasonal dishes.

oneoceantwo Whether it’s for a weekend or longer, indulge your senses (and your family’s, if need be) while staying within your travel budget when you decide to escape to One Ocean Hotel Resort and Spa.

Did You Know

One Ocean is pet-friendly. With a $75 pet fee, cats and dogs can enjoy their own pet bed, water bowl and mat as well as other amenities. You can even order their meals off a special Haute Pet Cuisine menu. Your four-legged friend can also indulge on vacation.

Fun Fact

One Ocean was once the Sea Turtle Inn, and John Grisham fans might recognize that name. Not only has he mentioned it in The Brethen, but also stayed there. Today, at the property, one of the suites is named after him.
