Hot Happenings – June 22

We have a week packed full of adventure filled with wine, wine and more wine. Join in the fun, as you sip your favorites or discover a new find this week. Hundreds are available to be tasted — how many can you handle?

Thursday, June 24 Escopazzo is hosting an Antinori wine dinner on Thursday featuring a sumptuous menu of farm fresh, organic ingredients. Start off with an asparagus flan with fontina and provola cheese sauce, shiitake mushrooms and white truffle infused oil; taste the flavors of the parsley, spinach and ricotta ravioli with warm tomatoes and goat cheese; and don’t forget the Herb, Prune and Pancetta filled veal breast. Thursday & Friday, June 24-25: Essensia at The Palms Hotel & Spa will play host to the 6th Annual Florida International Wine Challenge. Attendees will enjoy over 300 wines from around the world, improve their wine tasting abilities, and help raise money for the Florida Breast Cancer Foundation and the Melanie Finley Ovarian Cancer Foundation. Friday, June 25 Yelp Eats! kicked off this week and for one week, Miami area restaurants will offer an incredible $25 prix fixe dinner menu. Taking place from now until Sunday, June 27, it’s time to run out a discover a new favorite.

Saturday, June 26 Bring the kids out to Maggiano’s for a cooking class with Executive Chef Cesar. This class, targeted to children 5-12, starts at 11:00 am and costs $30/person. For this class, the children will learn to build their own lasagna. Reservations can be made by calling 561-322-1017. Monday, June 28 The ever-popular Cat Cora from Iron Chef America will make her way to Books & Books on Monday, as she presents her book — Classics with a Twist. She takes classic dishes and makes them fresher, healthier and lighter. Books will be available for purchase, and for Cat Cora to sign them.
