Catch Yusuf in concert!

“Oh baby, baby it’s a wild world. It’s hard to get by just upon a smile..”

How can I tell you that I love you, I love you. But I can’t think of right words to say..”

“It’s not time to make a change. Just relax, take it easy.. ” (Father and Son)

The first cut is the deepest, baby I know. The first cut is the deepest..”

Sound familiar? These are just a few of many timeless songs made famous by Yusuf – songs that never fail to relax and lift up my spirits. Formerly known as Cat Stevens in the 70’s, Yusuf is an award-winning singer-songwriter who has touched millions with his awe-inspiring hit songs. But his gifted talent did not end there. He also has a gift for helping others. I was humbled to learn that in 1979, he sold off his guitars for humanitarian causes to benefit the Muslim community.

Fans are privileged enough to see him perform in New Zealand (for the first time!) at the Vector Arena in Auckland (map) on June 29th.  Apparently, there has been a tremendous demand for tickets, you should consider yourself lucky to even be able to buy any at this time.  Alternatively, you could fly down to the South Island where Yusuf is also scheduled to perform, on July 2nd at Christchurch’s Westpac Arena (map).

My parents who recently celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary are huge fans.  If only I could afford to fly them in from the Philippines, I would definitely treat them to a night out they will never forget!
