Celebrate Italian Day 2010 on the Drive

Commercial Drive, in East Vancouver, has long been the home of a great number of Italian families, many of whom immigrated here in the 1950’s.¬† The Drive became known as “Little Italy”. Although a lot of the original Italian residents have moved to other parts of the city, there is still a strong representation of Italian who have businesses along Commercial Drive.

On June 6, The Commercial Drive Business Society, in partnership with the Italian Cultural Centre welcomes everyone to celebrate this long-anticipated return of Italian Day 2010, one of the best ethnic celebrations in Vancouver.

Come to the Drive and sample the best in Italian food, sports, cultural exhibits, music and a variety of other entertainment.  Try grape crushing, bocce ball and pizza tossing.  Take in the art exhibits and auto displays.  Commercial Drive, between Venables Street and the Grandview Cut will be lined with stages and booths whee you can enjoy all things Italian.  Event signage will reflect the different Italian regions and cities transforming Little Italy into Big Italy!
