King Kong 3D 360 is Coming This Summer

The classic film King Kong is even bigger than before, in the upcoming Universal Studios ride sure to impact viewers on a “colossal” scale.

With the Universal Studios fire in 2008, makers had to come up with something grand to replace major missing elements of the Studio Tour. Therefore, they brought the filmmaker of the 2005 version of King Kong, Peter Jackson, aboard to create a ride unlike any other. The collaboration between Jackson and Universal Studios resulted in an attraction to make viewers feel as if they are in the groundbreaking film.

Aboard the Universal tram, tou will be able to view 3D images (with special 3D glasses) projected at 60 frames per second. The tram and film are “tied into” a motion simulator so that you can have a 360 degree experience with surround images and sound. The tram itself will also jolt and make other movements in conjunction to actions in the film.

Come face to face with hungry raptors and a group of V-Rex, the larger cousins of the more widely known Tyrannosaurus Rex. However, it is the 25’ tall gorilla, known as “the eighth wonder of the world”, that everyone comes for. King Kong gets in violent fights with these giant dinosaurs, which cause your adrenaline to rush.

For Southern California residents, buying admission for one day is good for the whole year. For visitors, an extra day’s admission is included when buying one day’s ticket.

Price: General Admission to the Universal Studios Theme Park varies depending on each package, price range is $59-$269.

Location: Universal Studios, 1000 Universal Center Drive, Universal City (map)
