Yeehaw! It’s Rodeo Time in Cloverdale.

Beginning with a parade on Saturday May 22 at noon, featuring over 80 entries, the annual Cloverdale Rodeo kicks off for the May long weekend with an exciting list of events.  Top ranked pro rodeo contenders will compete in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding and ladies barrel racing.  Organizers are anticipating even more exciting action than usual in the rodeo arena, as each rodeo contestant will compete twice in their rodeo performance pool.  It’s a double chance to see these daring cowboys ride and perform.

On Sunday May 23 there is a Cowboy Church Service at 10 am in the Stetson Suite with Rev. Coy Hoffman, a rough-tough cowboy with a deep Midwest accent conducting the service.  These cowboy church services are traditional, keeping families together in difficult times, and are a non-denominational service open to all.

This Cloverdale Country Fair includes lots of free entertainment on the Outdoor Entertainment Stage featuring Ridley Bent in concert on Sunday May 23, 7.30 pm.  His latest release “Buckles & Boots” earned him 7 awards at the 2009 Country Music Awards including male vocalist of the year and single of the year.  The Outdoor Entertainment Stage also has a full lineup of performances each day starting at noon.

It wouldn’t be a rodeo without a Saloon, and the Cloverdale Rodeo is famous for its wild west party scene.  The Longhorn Saloon is located in the Agriplex Building and features live music by Whiskey Jane and Ken McCoy as well as Desi Mela and others on Sunday May 23.
