Auckland Theatre – ‘Stepping Out’

A night at the theatre is alway a real treat and the Auckland Theatre Company’s latest season of Stepping Out is no exception.

Based on the 1987 Broadway play by Richard Harris the story is based around a weekly tap dance class for a group of women (and one not so coordinated man!) run by an ex professional dancer, Mavis Turner.

The dance class is less about learning dance steps and more about a group of people getting together each week to escape their ‘ho hum’ lives, share stories and lots of laughs.  That is until they are invited to perform at a gala event – the hard work begins and stage fright sets in!

Does the group have what it takes?  Make sure you go along and find out, you are sure to enjoy this very funny, heartwarming story.

The play is being held at the SKYcity Theatre (map) and the Bruce Mason Centre from 10 June – 10 July 2010.

Starring Suzanne Paul, Sandra Rasmussen, Jason Te Mete, Goretti Chadwick, Michelle Leuthart, Olivia Tennet, Sia Trokenheim, Hera Dunleavy, Christine Asher and Penny Dodd and directed by Colin McColl.

Tickets can be booked via Ticketek.
