While it’s always fun to serve Mom breakfast in bed, or take her to her favorite restaurant on Mother’s Day, here are 5 ideas for a slightly different celebration this year.

May Flowers Festival

Does your mom like to garden? Then take her for a stroll through 66 acres of inspiration in full bloom at the Dallas Arboretum. Winding your way along paths lined with lush plants and statuary is a nice way to walk off a meal. The arboretum also hosts a Mother’s Day brunch, which is another good option.

Mother’s Day Concert

Does your mother enjoy classical music? The Dallas Chamber Orchestra will let your mom attend their Music for Mother performance free of charge. This special concert features the music of Handel, Beethoven and Schumann.

Overnight at the Zoo

Is your mom is an animal lover? Take her on an urban safari by attending the Mother’s Day Overnight at the Dallas Zoo, where you will enjoy a rare chance to see what goes on with the animals after hours. Participants will have special tours, a wild animal encounter, a craft making activity, snacks, a continental breakfast and a very memorable Mothers Day.
