Hot Events this Week – April 26 to May 2

From making a trip out to Sunfest to spending an evening with Ruth Reichl to taking your dog out for food and drinks, this week is full of hot happenings that you won’t want to miss.

April 29 – May 2 — Sunfest, Florida’s largest waterfront music and art festival, kicks off on Wednesday. Check out their website to find our when your favorite band is playing, or make plans to visit the arts and crafts booths, the wine garden, watch the fireworks or partake in any one of the activities. Sunfest is situated on the Intracoastal Waterway in downtown West Palm Beach. Tickets can be purchased at the door. Prices start at $32 for a 1-day pass.

April 28-29 – Wild Olives Cafe by Todd English is celebrating 21 years since the opening of the very first Todd English restaurant, Olives in Boston with a $21 3-course dinner special. Guests will enjoy their choice of soup or salad, entree (like Butternut Squash Lasagna, Fig & Prosciutto Flat bread or Grilled Salmon with Celery Root and Fingerling Potatoes) and dessert (either sorbet, Ricotta Cheesecake or Chocolate Chip Cookies). April 29, 7:30 p.m. Ruth Reichl will be at Books & Books discussing and signing copies of her latest book, For You, Mom, Finally. In this book, Ms. Reichl takes the reader on a journey of the investigation of the life of a woman she never really knew through old letters and diaries of her mother. Tickets are $5 and can be used toward the purchase of For You, Mom, Finally or any other book at Books & Books. The event will take place at Temple Israel of Greater Miami, 137 NE 19th St, Miami.

April 29, 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Royal Palm Place in Boca Raton invites you to Fine Wine & Canines – a fundraiser for PROPEL that offers guests a chance to sample wine from 15 wineries, taste gourmet samples from the area’s top restaurants and be entertained by violinist Sage McBride, 45 Live and World-Renowned Artist, Michael Israel. Saturday, May 1 – July 31. Bourbon Steak kicks our their 3-Course $49 Chef’s Market Menu on Saturday. Enjoy a decadent dinner, at Michael Mina’s signature restaurant all summer long. Sunday, May 2 — Every weekend in May the Village of Gulfstream will be offering free horse carriage rides. Make a trip to one of the restaurants for dinner, do a little shopping or gambling on the side, and tour the area with these free rides. These will be offered from 4:00-10:00 p.m. at Champtons Plaza on Saturdays and Sundays in May.

    The Ruth Reichl event has been canceled, as Ruth broke her foot at the LA Times Book Festival. The tickets can be used as coupons towards the purchase of a new book.
