Arepas in London

Fan of Venezuelan food? You can now get your arepas in London, if you head to Camden Market [map].

Arepa & Co has an extensive list of arepa fillings, including chicken, avocado, cheese and plaintain (that’s all together), black beans with shredded beef, and a veggie option.

They must be good, because they’ve been appointed caterers to the Venezuelan Embassy. It’s all authentic stuff provided by ‘Gus’ Salguero from a small stand in the market.

If you’ve not had arepas before, basically they’re big disks of cornbread (bigger than a burger bun by a good way!), griddled (for a crunchy outside) and then baked.

The downside? Arepas & Co is only open at weekends.
