Fillmore Art Walk This Friday

Looking for something free and fun to do this Friday? The Fillmore Art Walk in San Francisco will be held this Friday, April 23, 2010 from 6p.m. – 12 a.m. The event is free and includes performances and the work of local artists and fashion designers displayed in Fillmore Street restaurants and clubs, as well as public street art and outdoor music performances.

Fillmore Street boasts some of the city’s most famous shops and restaurants, most housed in Victorian buildings. Filled with unique stores, coffee shop hangouts and diverse restaurants, the shops stretching from Jackson to Geary Street along Fillmore are hip without being haughty.

Here are just a few of the finds you can discover this Friday:

Live music: Hot Pocket at 1300 on Fillmore; Seneca (Jazz Mafia) and Mug Push (performing outdoors in the Fillmore Center Plaza); The New Things and others.

Special Exhibits: Air Castle Gallery featuring “The Golden Movement” by Joshua Mays, Lush Life Gallery featuring “The Jazz Giants” by Herman Leonard.

Art shows at Fillmore Art Walk are free; each participating restaurant and club will offer discounted appetizers and drink specials.
