It’s Hollywood Down Under on Sydney Movie Tours

Who needs Hollywood when you’ve got Sydney? New South Wales’ capital has become the coolest place to shoot a movie, with directors lured by our beautiful weather, stunning scenery and laidback attitude.

International blockbusters like The Matrix, Mission: Impossible II, and the most recent Star Wars movies were all filmed here, not to mention local classics like Australia, Mao’s Last Dancer, Moulin Rouge, and Muriel’s Wedding.
Sydney Movie Tours operate a range of fun tours which will take you to some of the silver screen’s hottest spots.

The company’s walking tours set off from Martin Place. You might remember this area’s fountain from The Matrix. This two-hour tour will visit plenty more iconic locations just like this.

Fans of The Man of Steel might like to try the special Superman Returns Walking Tour. You’ll visit some of the places where the movie was shot, and hear stories about the stars and what they got up to behind the scenes. You can also feel like what it’s like to be a superhero as you recreate some of the movie’s scenes!

If walking sounds too much like hard work, a coach tour may be more your speed. These half-day tours start at The Rocks and travel through the City and its inner suburbs. A stop at the Imperial Hotel in Erskineville, seen famously in Priscilla: Queen of the Desert, is a real highlight.

Every person who joins one of Sydney Movie Tours groups will receive a welcome pack containing film souvenirs, a Sydney movie list, and discount vouchers. Film trivia is also played on all tours, and the winner of this will receive a very special prize.

Tours for bucks nights, hen’s nights, or corporate groups can also be arranged. Bookings are essential and can be made online or over the phone on 1300 302 640.
