Mother’s Day Is Just Around the Corner

Mother’s Day Brunch in the Capella

Sunday, May 9 – Served from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Mothers will be transported to the Mediterranean coast with The Grand Del Mar’s lavish Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet elegantly served in the resort’s exquisite sanctuary. The feast begins with breakfast pastries and morning favorites made-to-order. In addition to tempting Mediterranean bites, artisan cheeses, charcuterie and seasonal salads, there will be a decadent seafood selection, including Sushi and Nigiri, Smoked and Cured Salmon, Marinated Shrimp, Lobster Cocktail, Snow Crab Claws, Chile-Smoked Little Neck Clams and made-to-order Catalan Oysters over Lime Polenta. Pastas made-to-order will be Tagliatelle with Grapefruit, Prosciutto and Purple Haze Goat Cheese; and Black Garlic and St. Agur Blue Cheese Gnocchi with Red Pepper Coulis; main dishes to savor include Baked Halibut with Savoy Cabbage and Peach Beurre Blanc; Marinated Chicken Supreme; and Slow-Roasted Pomegranate-Glazed Beef Tenderloin with Parsnip Mash. The sweet finale will be complete with Coconut Cake, Carrot-Pineapple Cake, Chocolate Truffle Mousse, White Chocolate Crème Brûlée, as well as scrumptious miniature treats. Amaya for Mother’s Day

Sunday, May 9 – Brunch: 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Dinner: 5 to 9 p.m.

At the resort’s casual Mediterranean-inspired restaurant Amaya, Chef Camron Woods will offer a delectable three-course Mother’s Day Brunch Menu ($38 per person), with choice of starters such as Yogurt Parfait and Catalan Shrimp; entrée selections such as Brioche French Toast with Banana and Chocolate-Hazelnut Sauce; Rotisserie Chicken Breast with Potato Puree and Mushroom Ragout; and Seared Striped Bass with French Beans, Pea Tendrils and Lemon Beurre Blanc; plus a special dessert trio of Dark Chocolate Fudge Cake with Roasted Banana Mousse,
