Peixe em Lisboa, Top Gastronomic Event

Peixe em Lisboa (Fish in Lisbon), now in the third edition, has become one of the best gastronomic events in the country. It gathers in the same place top restaurants, live demonstrations of the best chefs in action, gourmet products, wine and beer and lots of activities like concerts.

Pavilhão de Portugal, at Parque das Nações (map), was once again chosen as the place to receive this year’s edition. This is one of the most striking contemporary buildings in Lisbon, design by the celebrated Álvaro Siza Vieira for the Expo 1998.

This is a great opportunity to try some of the best restaurants and chefs, national and international; learn with them; to enjoy good food and great wine… Brasilian gastronomy will be highlighted this year.

The best restaurants

There will be 12 restaurants led by renowned chefs serving tastings of fish and seafood from midday to midnight. Eleven restaurants will be permanent and the 12th will rotate.

Permanent: Cervejaria Ramiro; Eleven (one Michelin Star); Fortaleza do Guincho (one Michelin Star); Mercado de Santa Clara; Nobre – Spazion Buondi; Panorama; Paulo Morais; Ribamar; Spot São Luís; Tasca da Esquina; Tavares (One Michelin Star)

Rotative: Feitoria; York House; A Travessa

Live Presentations of the chefs

50 minutes sessions presenting national and international top chefs in action, creating fish and seafood delicacies.

Some of the International chefs invited are:

- Alex Atala from D.O.M., elected as the 24th of the 50 best around the world by the English magazine Restaurant;

- Claude Troisgros, from the family of the 3 Michelin Star Roanne, in France;

- Bel Coelho;

- Beto Pimentel;

- Joan Roca, one of the most quoted chefs in the world and co-owner of the three Michelin star restaurant El Celler de Can Roca;

- Tsuyoshi Murakami was elected the best chef in 2009 by Made in Japan Magazine and Chef of the Year by Prazeres da Mesa Magazine

Portuguese chefs: Alexandre Silva (restaurante Bocca, Lisboa), Bertílio Gomes (Casa da Comida, Lisboa), Hans Neuner (The Ocean, Algarve), João Sá e André Simões (G-Spot, Sintra), José Avillez (Tavares, Lisboa), José Corderio (Feitoria, Lisbon), Leonel Pereira (Panorama, Hotel Sheraton Lisboa), Luís Baena (Manifesto, Lisboa), Luis Lavrador (Selecção Portuguesa de Futebol), Miguel Castro e Silva (De castro Elias, Lisboa), Nuno Barros (Taberna 2780, Oeiras), Rui Paula (DOC, Folgosa do Douro) e Vítor Sobral (Tasca da Esquina, Lisboa).

Gourmet Market

You will have the oportunity to take some gourmet products back home, like coffee, pates, olive oil, cheese, jam, traditional sweets, chocolate, among many other things.


Down be putted away by your children. There will be an area for the young ones (form 6 to 10 years old) to get in contact with healthy food and balanced meals. A chef will be leading them to create some easy dishes.

Combining dishes with wine and wine tasting

Chefs will be making fish and seafood dishes to combine with wines. There will also be wine tastings.

Cooking classes, Gourmet dinners, delicious cocktails, live music, wine bars are other things you can find at Peixe em Lisboa 2010.
