Celebrate Frozen Food Month with a Cool Disney Treat

It may be the last day of March, but there is still time to celebrate National Frozen Food Month. Perhaps my most favorite month of the year, no one loves to celebrate this food frenzy more, as ice cream is a huge downfall to my diet regime.

Served in a cup or nestled in a cone, undercover of rich silky sauce, frozen on a stick or whirled into a frosty shake, no matter how you scoop it, I love ice cream and just can’t avoid it. Oh, okay lets be honest, it isn’t just ice cream, any frozen treat will do!

Since this is an area I have researched thoroughly, allow me to share a variety of  frozen delights for you to enjoy while visiting the most magical place on earth:

Animal Kingdom

Several Kiosks scattered throughout the compound feature cool treats from ice cream cups to waffle cones, but my favorite here would be Camp Soft-Serve where chocolate, vanilla or swirled soft serve ice cream is dished up or featured as the main ingredient in a refreshing “float”.

Want a little break from the park? Rainforest Cafe   (map) serves up some tasty frozen beverages, both the adult and younger versions, that will quench any thirst.  Grab an appetizer or a meal, but be sure  to grab a Sparkling Volcano– large enough for you and a friend or two, this mountain of warm chocolate rich brownie cake served with ice cream and drenched in chocolate and carmel lava

The name says it all, Refreshment Coolpost a counter service spot located in the World Showcase, serves up soft-serve ice cream, sundaes, root beer floats, and frozen lemonade.  At another kiosk, Crepes des Chefs de France, grab a chocolate, strawberry or sugar crepe and a little soft-serve on the side!

A super cool dining spot in the Seas section of the theme park, Coral Reef restaurant allows you to dine among the fishes.  Ooh and Aah as the Brown Shark, Stingrays and Green Sea Turtles glide by all while you savor Almond Gelato topped with peaches and mango sauce!

A gelato fan? Try Tutto Italia Ristorante where you can delight in a variety of gelati and sorbetti flavors served in marvelous ways.  Splurge on two desserts and grab some Tiramisu as well, it might not be frozen, but it’s Tiramisu!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hey Howdy Hey Take Awayin Pixar Place is a walk up spot inspired by Toy Story.  Who can’s cool down after a Wheezy’s Breezy Freezy or an Itzakazoodie Pop?  Sentimental types can also grab a frozen Mickey on a Stick here.

50’s Prime Time Diner offers a variety of frosty beverages, both in and out of Dad’s Liquor Cabinet.  You will be right back in the 50’s with these delicious floats, malts, sodas, shakes and smoothies.  Care to shake things up? There’s no better spot to indulge in a shake than at the Sci-Fi Diner.  Known for their famous P B & J Shake – if you can get past the thought of peanut butter and jelly in a shake, it is actually quite tasty!

Magic Kingdom

There is only one spot to head for a frozen treat in this theme park, Aloha Isle.  Located in Adventureland, this little refreshment spot serves up soft serve with a tropical twist, a pineapple Dole Whip.  Light, cool and refreshing, this creation will have you recharged and ready to tackle a band of pirates no matter how hot it is outside.

Here is my list, how about you — what is your favorite Disney frozen treat?
