Marie Belle’s Sinful Chocolate at Limelight Marketplace

Out of the over 60 boutique retailers set to open in The Limelight Marketplace, I’m most excited about luxury chocolatier Marie Belle New York.  Boasting international recognition for their complete line of decadent artisanal chocolates, Marie Belle joins a unique group of tempting vendors in “The Sweet Room,” on the marketplace’s first floor.  This landmark building on the northeast corner of Sixth Avenue and 20th Street has gone through many incarnations including a church, a few nightclubs, and now this 3-story 25,000-square-foot retail hub.

Marie Belle Assorted Fine Chocolates

Marie Belle’s signature handmade confections are made with the finest chocolate, eclectic ingredients and artisanal techniques yielding nothing less than edible works of art.  In fact, these chocolates more closely resemble jewelry!  Artfully displayed in signature blue and brown boxes, their intricate imagery is transferred by hand from paper to sugar before applying to the chocolates’ surface.

These morsels are made using single origin cacao blended with the freshest ingredients to create 27 rich and complex flavors including Saffron, Cinnamon, Dulce de Leche, Earl Grey Tea, Mango, and Lemon.

In addition to the boutique storefront, Marie Belle will also host the Cacao Bar, a full service café in one of the Limelight’s second-story Sky Boxes.  Signature beverages like their Aztec Hot Chocolate and an exotic tea collection will be served up with a light fare menu.

In addition to MarieBelle’s presence in “The Sweet Room” and Sky Box café, a push cart with seasonal treats will travel throughout the public areas of Limelight, invoking the ambiance of strolling through an open-air European marketplace.

By subway: Stop at 23rd St. Station and walk 3 blocks down 6th Ave. to # 656
