More Reasons to Love Disneyland Resort Paris

A new generation of beloved Disney characters will be arriving at Disneyland Resort Paris to celebrate a year-long festival full of new shows and parades.  Beginning April 2 through March 2011, characters will appear in new ways at both Disneyland Resort Paris (map) theme parks, Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park.

Disney characters have long been seen as a symbol of joy and entertainment with many being timeless.  Welcoming a new generation of Disney “stars” into the parks will likewise welcome a new generation of guests with a new set of memories.

The New Generation Festival will bring to life the stories, heroes and characters from Disney pictures The Princess and the Frog, Ratatouille, Lilo & Stitch, Cars, Monsters Inc., Toy Story and Finding Nemo:

  • Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen, the newest royal pair from The Princess and the Frog, will sit side by side during Disney’s Once Upon a Dream Parade in Disneyland Park
  • Remy and Emile, the brothers from Ratatouille, will ride in a brand new auto in the Stars and Cars Cavalcade taking place daily at Walt Disney Studios Park
  • Mickey Mouse will welcome more new character friends to Disneyland Park in a daily singing and dancing extravaganza, Disney’s Showtime Spectacular at Central Plaza Stage
  • What could be more fun than to be allowed to scream as loud as monsterly possible?  Monsters, Inc.star Sulley, will ask guests to break the scream-o-meter with shrills of joy several times daily at Monsters, Inc. Scream Academy

And that is only the beginning of the fun as this summer, Walt Disney Studios Park will open Toy Story Playland.  Buzz Lightyear will invite guests into Andy’s enormous backyard, as it appears all the guests have been shrunk to the size of toys.

Besides the large play area with loads of interactive fun and photo opportunities galore, Playland will feature three new attractions:

  • Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop where you can join the Green Army Men in a “dive from the sky”
  • Slinky-Dog Zig-Zag Spin takes the whole family on a whimsical coaster style ride
  • Rev up with RC Racer on a U-shaped race circuit featuring a 25 meter half pipe
