Quinoa, The New Trendy Organic Bakery and Coffee Shop

On an old refurnished 18th century building on Rua do Alecrim, near Chiado (Map), there is an new special store that Lisbon was missing – a trendy bakery, coffee shop and gourmet shop, all in one, inside an elegant restored house where the contrast of the old and the modern seems to be perfect. From the old antique shop, they kept the red front door, the arches and the old wooden stair into a mezzanine where you can have your tea, cake, lunch or just sit and read a magazine.

The bakery is proud to announce it’s all 100% organic. The bread is simply delicious and they sell around 10 different varieties.

On the coffee shop you can have lunch, natural juices and delicious, creative sandwiches – smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese and herbs (€4,20); and ham sandwich with cooked pears and Roquefort (€4,80) cheese are just some good examples. At weekends and holidays they serve a brunch made of bio yogurt with fresh fruit, orange juice, rolls with butter, honey and jam, croissant or pain au chocolat, eggs, cheese and a hot drink. They also serve some mouth-watery, home-made pastries.

On your way out you can shop some pure delicacies on their gourmet shop.

This is another excellent choice for a break from the busy city, read a book or meeting friends and sharing adventures.

On weekends the places extends into a chill out space with Portuguese snacks…
