Pemberton Winterfest 2010
Nestled in the spectacular Coast mountains, Pemberton is known as the Gateway to the Back Country. The town has a diverse heritage and the theme of their Winterfest 2010 is “A celebration of our authentic mountain culture through music, arts, literacy and sport.” During the 2010 Winter Olympics, Pemberton has many exciting events planned. Appaloosa, Pemberton’s favorite band, will be the featured act at Pemberton House during the WinterFest. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the Pemberton Community Centre.
Pemberton, located at the foot of Mt.Currie,  is one of the Coast’s fastest growing communities, a showcase of mountain culture in the West. This community, 20 minutes north of Whistler (2 hrs north of Vancouver) was the last frontier to the gold country and it still attracts adventure seekers.
Winterfest is a real down-home celebration with great entertainment and a chance to experience this unique small town’s hospitality.  Take in the art exhibits and shows and in the evening attend the street party and dance all night. Taste some of the best West Coast cuisine while you’re there. Enjoy some winter sports, too. There are different venues throughout the Valley, some ticketed and pay-as-you-can events, workshops and performances showcasing the best of Pemberton’s talent.
