Yoga in the Arboretum

For a bit of R & R in a peaceful natural surrounding after you are all done work for the day, stop off at the Houston Arboretum Nature Center for yoga sessions every Thursday from 5:45-6:45 pm. The Arboretum in Houston allows people in the Houston area to escape from everyday city life and enjoy the beauty of nature while allowing the native plants and animals of Texas to flourish in a safe place.

The yoga classes that take place in the Arboretum are one hour in length and offer a full view of the forest on Thursday evenings. So why fight the traffic trying to get home in a rush? Let Nancy Sorenson, a certified yoga instructor, help you slow down and relax in the beauty of the Arboretum. She teaches a gentle yet powerful style of yoga influenced by the teachings and principles of Anusara yoga. Once finished a yoga class, the feeling your body has (if practiced properly) is a feeling of calmness and makes you sleep like a baby at night.

Taking classes in a yoga studio has its benefits, but nothing gives you peace of mind more than practicing yoga in a natural atmosphere when your day is complete.

The classes are $10 per session when registering for a month, or $15 per session for drop-ins.

Available sessions:

* February 4
* February 11
* February 18
* February 25
* March 4
