All Lovey Dovey and Zooey
It may not be on most couples’ lists, but in Auckland, it’s certainly voted as one of the most romantic destinations. So a trip to the Auckland Zoo might just be the idyll spot for wooing this Valentine’s Day.
Located along Motions Road at Western Springs, the Auckland Zoo has several venues it actually rents out for weddings, birthday parties, and other functions.
For Valentine’s Day, the zoo offers a Lovers Lunch, an exclusive luncheon served at the legendary Old Elephant House. This beautiful and historic building retains the elephant stalls, studded doors, original high ceilings, drinking troughs, and outdoor courtyard, along with mementos of its earlier occupants.
With the Old Elephant House set up with romance in mind, couples will be treated to a Valentine-themed venue and table, tapas-style lunch, bubbles, gift, and music. The Lovers Lunch will be served from 11.30am to 1:30pm, and is priced at $300 per couple, with an available cash bar.
To help provide intimacy and an overall romantic ambience, tables are strictly limited to only 26. So those interested should book early before those tables run out by calling (09) 360 3813 or sending an email to zoom@aucklandcity.govt.nz
The Auckland Zoo is located just west of downtown Auckland, right next to the beautiful Western Springs Reserve, along with the Museum of Transport and Technology (MOTAT). Auckland’s very first electric tram, Number 11, offers a link between both sites. Auckland Zoo is also well signed both east and west bound on the Northwestern motorway. Hi folks
It seems that you have picked up on our Valentine’s Day offerings from 2009. We are doing things a little differently this year…with special Jungle Love Zoom tours and/or breakfast and picnic lunch options.
Please see http://www.aucklandzoo.co.nz/default.asp?sectionID=626 for all the details.
