Planning a Disney Vacation Step by Step; When To Go
Congratulations! You have finally found a few clear days on the calendar and you have made the decision, you are going on a Disney vacation.
No matter if it is your first visit or your fifth, planning a trip to Disney can be a bit overwhelming. Let me reassure you, there is no need to panic. Take a deep breath and we will go through this together one step at a time.Â
By clearing the calendar, you already have one step completed, choosing when to take your Disney trip. But, in case you are still juggling calendars and dates, here are some suggestions:
- The Parks are traditionally more crowded during school breaks, especially Christmas, Spring and Summer vacations. Three-day weekends can often be crowded as not only schools, but Mom and Dad often have extra time-off, tooÂ
- Least crowded times at the Parks are the few weeks after Labor Day, the week after Thanksgiving and first two weeks of December
- Planning to travel to the Disney Parks during Special Events can add extra excitement during your trip. Disney’s California Food & Wine Festival is traditionally held in the spring. Spring brings a flurry of activity to Walt Disney World with Epcot’s International Flower & Garden Festival. Other special events include Star Wars Weekends (May/June), Epcot’s International Food & Wine Festival, in fall and with elaborate decorations and seasonal entertainment highlight the holiday season
- Extra Ticket Celebrations like Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas at Walt Disney World Resort and Halloween Time at Disneyland Resort can create many unforgettable moments for whole family
There are a few other items to consider when planning your trip:
- Â Avoiding the busy times at the park probably means less wait times for attractions and easier dining reservations, however, at times of lower attendance, periodic scheduled maintenance could result in some attraction closures
- Peak attendance times can mean extended operating hours and sometimes additional entertainment options.
So when is the best time to visit a Disney Park? That all depends on your personal preferences and your calendar. But if you ask me, when should we visit Disney? My answer would be, every chance you get!
