Looking for a different Boston visitor experience ? Take a cooking class! This winter the Fairmont Copley Plaza will be hosting the 15th annual Celebrity Chef series. Learn practical techniques that will take your cooking to the next level. You will receive a bound book of recipes to take home, and best of all, you will sample the day’s dishes along with wine pairings at the conclusion of the class.

The series is sponsored by the Boston Center for Adult Education, the classes begin at 1 PM and end at 3PM.

Saturday, January 30, Laurent Poulain of the Fairmont Copley Plaza, “A Taste of New England”.

Saturday, February,6, Brendan Bashford of the Fairmont Battery Wharf , “Sustainable Seafood”.

Saturday, February 20, Thomas Frost of the Hamilton Princess and Chris Chafe of the Farimont Southhampton, “A Taste of Bermuda”.

Each session costs $60, tickets can be purchased through BCAE or call 617-267-4430. Better yet,  pair the class with a Boston weekend get-away.  Celebrity Chef Weekend packages start at $299 and include accommodations and tickets to the event for two.

And be sure to pet Catie Copley,  the Copley Plaza’s resident five-year-old Black Labrador  and the hotel’s  “Canine Ambassador.” You can usually find Catie in  her bed near the concierge . She is somewhat of a local celebrity and  the subject of two children’s books which you can purchase from the hotel’s  gift shop.
