Picks of the Week – Latin Wine Tasting, Craft Brewers Festival, Pizza Tweetup and More

Pizza, wine and beer are the focus this week, as we pick some of our favorite events for upcoming days ahead.

Fig & Prosciutto Flat Bread at Wild Olives

January 28-30 — Latin American Vinofest. Delray Beach will be home to the best of Latin wines during this weekend’s Vinofest. On Thursday night, the wine showcase will take place on Atlantic Ave during a street festival with wine and food samplings. On Friday, there will be a winemaker’s dinner and auction and on Saturday various wine seminars will be held. Cost is $29.95 in advance for the Thursday night event, wine dinners are additional.

January 28 – “We do it on Thursdays” Meet the wine maker on Thursday evenings at Escopazzo. For this week’s event, guests will enjoy Mattebella Vineyards wines with proprietor Mark Tobin, enjoy finger food and mingle with other wine lovers. Cost is $20. Call 305.674.9450 for more information. Escopazzo Organic Italian Restaurant is located at 1311 Washington Avenue in South Beach.

Friday, January 29 — It’s time for the art and wine promenade taking place in Northwood Village in West Palm Beach. Sample wine at the boutique wine tasting stations, enjoy live music and discover some new art favorites with the streetside artist trunk shows. As an added bonus, there will be a dedication ceremony for The Teen Time Healthy Choices Mural on the corner of Broadway and Northwood Rd at 6:30 pm. The promenade takes place from 6:00 – 9:00 pm.

Saturday, January 30 — 4th Annual Craft Brewers Festival. This may be well worth the drive if you are a beer lover. Roger Dean Stadium will be the host to this 4th Annual Festival, where guests will come together to sample beer from some of the best breweries nationwide. Cost is $26.50 + service fees in advance and $30 at the door. This will get you unlimited samples and food items will be available at an additional cost. Some of the beers that will be available include: Blue Moon, Brooklyn Brewery, Dogfish Head and Fresh Beer. This event will take place at Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, FL from 1:00 to 5:30 pm.

Monday, February 1 — PizzaTweetup at Wild Olives by Todd English. This will bring you the best of the pizza and twitter worlds. Join your friends on twitter for some face-to-face interaction time at this PizzaTweetup hosted by @Lapp and @DineMag. From 6:00 – 8:00 pm, guests will enjoy complimentary flat breads (Fig & Prosciutto anyone?) and enjoy drinks for 1/2 price. This event is free to attend, but please RSVP in advance. Wild Olives is located at 5050 Town Center Circle in Boca Raton.
