Flemings Scallops

Welcome to one of the most anticipated events in Los Angeles. If you didn’t already know, we are in the middle of DineLA but don’t fret, we still have one more week (until February 5). At each of the participating restaurants (and there’s a lot!), you will be able to enjoy a three-course lunch and/or dinner. Prices are fixed depending on the restaurant and you get to view the full menu before you go. Here are some of my top picks of DineLA restaurants:

1. Bubba Gump Modeled after the famous “Forest Gump” film, the entire restaurant is filled with Southern décor. If you’ve watched the movie, you’ll know what this restaurant specializes in. Location: 301 Santa Monica Pier Bldg 9, Santa Monica, CA 90401

2. Cha Cha Cha This Caribbean restaurant has delicious “Guava and Goat Cheese Quesadillas”and you have to try their Jerk chicken. Location: 656 N. Virgil Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90004

3. Flemings Not only a fine dining steakhouse, Flemings also gives huge servings of seafood. For example, they have whole lobsters and Alaskan King Crabs on their menu. Location: 6373 Topanga Canyon Blvd, Woodland Hills, CA 91367-2215

4. Katsuya Go to Katsuya for a unique Japanese experience. You’ll find different but interesting items on the menu. The interior is contemporary and designed to catch your eye. Location: 702 Americana Way, Glendale, CA 91210

5. Moonshadows Set right by the beach, you can view the waves as you have a great California dinner or lunch with a loved one. Location: 20356 Pacific Coast Hwy, Malibu, CA 90265-5428

6. Roy’s My favorite restaurant happens to be on the DineLA list. This Asian Fusion restaurant has dishes mainly inspired by the islands of Hawaii. Take a look at the Valentine article I wrote for PlanetEye! Location: 800 S. Figueroa St Ste 100, Los Angeles, CA 90017

7. The Melting Pot Planning on going out with a group of friends or family? Well, fondue is a unique way to have dinner with many people. It’s like having everyone around a campfire roasting marshmallows, without the flies and being in the cold. Location: 88 W. Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91105

8. The Palm Famous actors and actresses have come to this steakhouse for their top quality. Service is their strong suit as they gave me a complementary dessert of my choosing on my first night there. Location: 1100 S. Flower St, Los Angeles, CA 90015

9. Gaucho Grill You haven’t had a steak until you’ve had an Argentinian steak. This South American restaurant serves items familiar to the continent such as “mollejas” or sweetbreads and “asodo de tira” or short ribs. Location: 1175 San Vicente Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90049-5010

Some Other Noteworthy Restaurants:

10. Geisha House Ashton Kutcher’s Japanese restaurant. Location: 6633 Hollywood Blvd, Hollywood, CA 90028

11. Spago The famous Chef Wolfgang Puck’s Californian restaurant. Location: 176 N. Canon Dr, Beverly Hills, CA 90210

12. The Gorbals The winner of Top Chef season 2, Ilan Hall’s eclectic restaurant. Location: 501 South Spring Street, Los Angeles, CA 90013

I hope you can enjoy the greatest dining event of the year in Los Angeles. You will be able to taste the greatest creations by world famous chefs. But don’t forget to act soon, Dine LA ends next week!
