What’s On Edinburgh – End of January Edition

As January comes to a close, the city is still quiet and sombre, though there has been some days of sunshine (and the snow is melting). Here’s a few things

Burns Night Quiz.  9PM tonight the Brass Monkey is hosting a how-good-is-your-burns-knowledge quiz night.  I love this little pub – it’s so quirky and it even has a film room!  Yup – they show movies.  Crazy.

Storytelling. On the 29th at Guid Crack Club, a story telling group, will be sharing tales and tidbits at the Waverley Bar (a very curious place that only opens at the owner’s whim).  Starts at 7:30PM.

Get out the Vintage Dress.  If you’re in fancy dress, vintage-style, you’ll get a discount on entry at Electric Circus for their Blitz night on the 28th, 9PM-3AM.  If you haven’t been here, check it out – fun and funky, without a doubt!

Fit O’Giggles. The Beehive Inn on the Grassmarket is showing a night full of hilarity and humiliation on stage.  25th Jan 8PM.  (Fit O’ The Giggles is the name of the show – yes, really.)

Passing Places.  A theatre show about a Scottish roadtrip is now playing at the Bedlam Theatre, 26-30th Jan 7:30PM night.

National Gallery Highlights.  Want a free tour of the best of the national gallery?  You got it.  Meet at the main entrance, Saturday 30th, two tours each starting at 2PM and 3PM for 45 minutes.

Tiny Tales.  This one’s for the wee’uns (kids) – they’ll be able to hear some tiny tales over at the Scottish Storytelling Centre on the 26th Jan at 10AM and 11:30AM.  Great coffee and tea for the adults too.
