Private Dining Hawaii-style
Thinking of where to have your next business meeting or private party? Flying to Hawaii might be a little much. So do the next best thing and have Roy’s Hawaiian Fusion Cuisine private dining in downtown Los Angeles. Don’t feel bad if you don’t have any plans to be in Los Angeles-several other locations have sprung up all over the country. Roy’s offers six different options which are named after places in Hawaii. The room(s) you can choose from are based on the number of seats you wish to have. The six choices (and seats) are: Waimea Room (20), Kona Room (35), Waikoloa Room (45), Waimea & Kona (55), Waimea & Waikoloa (65), and of course the Big Island (105). The fixed menu has a “Family Style Appetizer Canoe” featuring Chef Roy’s most popular appetizers. For your guests, you can also choose an “Island Fresh Salad”. For the entrées, you can choose up to six out of the TWENTY dishes that are “From the Sea”, “From the Land”, or Hawaiian Mixed Plates. For dessert, guests enjoy Roy’s Dessert Sampler Plate with freshly brewed coffee or loose leaf tea. Just to name a few, you can choose entrees like Kona Coffee Rubbed 16 oz. Ribeye, Teppanyaki Grilled Shrimp, and Roy’s Classic fish dishes of Macadamia Nut Crusted White Fish, Butterfish, and Ahi. In addition to dinner, you can choose to have private dining for lunch or for cocktail parties.
I couldn’t help but notice that the dish categories and the dish themselves are named in a way as to appreciate Hawaii’s heritage and environment. Important elements we should all consider when going about our daily lives.
Valentine’s
Now you didn’t think I would leave without mentioning Roy’s special Valentine’s menu did you? At every location, the Valentine’s menu will look different, which is great because you can pick which restaurant you want to go to based on your food preferences. The prixe menu will be priced according to your entrée and you have a choice of appetizer, entrée, and dessert. This menu will only be offered on February 14th (Sunday) but if you go to Roy’s anywhere from the 12th to the 14th, you get a $20 gift card!
As a regular customer, I find the service and most of all the food appealing (not only to the stomach but also to the eyes). Let us not forget that Hawaii is made up of different cultures and ethnicities itself. Therefore, the food has many influences from countries like the Philippines, Japan, and Korea. The desserts are signature like the chocolate molten lava cake or the pineapple upside down cake. However, I find the dessert bento box to be my favorite-giving the customer little tastes of many different Hawaiian-inspired treats. This popular restaurant from the islands of Hawaii has been brought to “The Mainland” for us to enjoy. So, let’s take advantage of it!
