Valentine’s Day Funk in Vegas

Personally, I think the blues is the sexiest most romantic music around. Vegas celebrates R&B, soul and funk at KLUC’s 4th Annual Valentine’s Love Affair at Orleans Arena February 13 with romantic acts from the ‘70s and ‘80s.

Evelyn Champagne King

Sharing the stage will be Heatwave, best known for the 1977 hit “Boogie Nights,” and “Always and Forever” and “Groove Line;” Peaches and Herb, including original member Herb Fame and his new “Peaches,” Meritxell Negre, who will perform classic hits including “Reunited,” “Shake Your Groove Thing,” and “I Pledge Your Love;” and Blue Magic, known for their unique blend of R&B and soul as performed in their No. 1 hit “Sideshow,” as well as “Stop to Start” and their first hit single “Spell.”  Other acts will include Evelyn Champagne King; Malo; Thee Midnighters; The Originals; Dorothy Moore and The Floaters.

KLUC’s 4th Annual Valentine’s Love Affair concert was stupendous! Of memorable note was Heatwave and Peaches & Herb with the lovely Meritxell Negre stealing the crowd. This woman is a non-African American (“Spaniard”) with as much soul as any sista! Seeing the Latin Queen of Soul perform was a sheer delight!
