REVIEW: Café Fábulas – an Excellent Break at Chiado
When you’re going around Bairro Alto and Chiado, shopping, feeling the new Lisbon atmosphere, you will eventually feel like a break… from the heat, from the cold and rain or just from walking, to relax. This area has already a few interesting places. Fábulas Café is another one that is definitely recommended.

In the winery of an old building, this places changes from an art gallery into a restaurant and café, yet into a chill out place. Huge arches gives a filling of entering an old age. Music flows from room to room, barely touching anyone reading a book or accessing Internet.
The small rooms give space to indulgent comfort and intimacy. Little places made for two or majestic Victorian tables and sofas for lively groups. Picking a book or a magazine (foreign language too) and finding you own corner is just half the fun. You then have to choose from a book of delicacies – tacos, crepes, wonderful colourful salads, toasts, main courses and desserts.
Another great thing, you really feel you’re hiding from the outside world. It’s tucked away in a little alley, just 1 minutes walking from the centre of Chiado.
