One Of Dallas’ Many Claims To Fame

Frozen Margarita

It isn’t the warmest of seasons at the moment, but a really good frozen margarita can be a nice treat at anytime. It is typically a drink sought after on warm sunny days and best enjoyed on a patio somewhere, but either way, the frozen margarita’s roots originated here in Dallas, Texas. Over 30 years ago, Mariano Martinez, Dallas restaurateur, transformed a soft-ice cream machine into a margarita master. This way he could continue to make his invention for his customers that just kept coming back for more of his special margaritas. This drink has become so popular that many people enjoy this frozen treat across the country and beyond the borders.

Here are some of the best places in Dallas to enjoy a nice frosty margarita:

Iron Cactus: located in historic Sixth Street, here you can enjoy contemporary Mexican cuisine, featuring over 80 different types of tequila.

Cantina Laredo: a sophisticated Mexican restaurant featuring daily fish specials, grilled chicken and steaks.

The Blue Goose Cantina: continually voted the best margaritas in town that are complimented with tasty Tex-Mex meals: fajitas, tamales, mesquite grilled shrimp, enchiladas, and delicious sauces and salsas.

Javier’s: featuring Continental Mexico City Cuisine, not so much the Tex-Mex concept. Gourmet tacos, enchiladas, and other traditional Mexican delicacies is what you will find here.
