Luminarias Light the Way in North Phoenix Run
Only in the desert can you run at night along a beautifully lit path and marvel at the sights and sounds of the Sonoran desert.Â

To get you in the holiday mood, walk or run down a luminaria-lit trail of the quiet, charming streets and surrounding desert landscape of Cave Creek in the annual Desert Advocate Luminaria Run.
Marking their 7th year, this popular event serves as the town’s official kick off to the holiday season. With a series of activities for the whole family, take your pick of the Little Kid’s Desert Dash, Big Kid’s Desert Dash, 4 mile run/walk and 2 mile run/walk.
Beginning and ending at the cowboy-inspired Stagecoach Village shopping center, this run/walk is a fundraiser for local Cave Creek elementary schools. Past years have attracted over 1,000 participants.
The town’s tree-lighting ceremony will take place right after the run and many additional activities follow. Post race treats include frybread, chips and salsa donated by local Cave Creek eateries.
