At a young age this boy was castrated leaving his future uncertain, as he is now a hermaphidite with no clear place for him in India. In the future he will be accepted in the group of Hijras, a third sex category in India.
Hijras are a minority group consisting of homosexual and transvestite men and women. They earn a living by providing unwelcomed entertainment at social gatherings such as weddings.
