Holiday Happenings at Walt Disney World Resort

At Walt Disney World Resort the decorations are up, the music is playing, the gingerbread is baked and the snow is flying — that’s right, snow!  So let the holiday celebrations begin, because with special events scheduled at all of the Disney theme parks, you will not want to miss a thing.

Main Street U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom

Main Street U.S.A. at Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom offers:

  • Castle Dreamlights! Cinderella and friends dress in their holiday finest and take to the stage for a special light show as 200,000 sparkling, jewel-like crystals on Cinderella’s Castle glisten in a light-the-night moment
  • Holiday Wishes – Celebrate the Spirit of the Season fireworks display set to classic holiday tunes puts Cinderella’s sparkling Castle at the forefront of the celebration once again
  • It may be Orlando, Florida, but on Main Street U.S.A., a winter-like swirl is falling from the sky as Disney forecasters predict a nightly snowfall — don’t forget to share some hot chocolate and cookies from Main Street Bakery
  • Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is an extra-ticket holiday celebration that is held on select nights featuring fun for the whole family

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

  • Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade is a celebration that winds its way through the Animal Kingdom theme park with festive music, colorful characters and a merry mix of  holiday tradition.  Held daily Nov 27 – Jan 3, Mickey and friends lead a parade of  larger-than-life animal puppets and favorite Disney Characters

Disney’s Hollywood StudiosOsborne

  • Seeing is believing as the Osborne Family Spectacle of Dancing Lights reveals a seasonal display with millions of glittering lights synchronized to holiday music on the Streets of America.  Blanketed in sheets of multi-colored lights, entire buildings are covered in an almost overwhelming scene.  And as if that was not enough, every 10 minutes, the lights dramatically dim and then spring to life, dancing to the music.

Epcot Theme ParkCandlelight Procession

  • Holidays Around The World, an international celebration of Yuletide traditions throughout the World Showcase of Epcot theme park, is held daily beginning Nov. 27.  Sharing the traditions and spreading goodwill and cheer are Pere Noel in France, La Befana in Italy and Santa Claus in the American Adventure
  • IlluminNations: Reflections of Earth takes on a spirited finale to its nightly laser, light and fireworks show
  • Candlelight Processional is a special holiday event held nightly at American Gardens Theatre as a 50-piece orchestra and mass choir accompany a guest celebrity narrator retelling the Christmas Story.  This very popular event has become a tradition with many Disney World guests.  Many participate in the Candlelight Dinner Package that includes dinner and spot in the guaranteed seating section for the performance.  Dinner reservations may be made by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

Downtown Disney

  • Festival of the Seasons! turns Downtown Disney into a holiday retail wonderland with all the sights and sounds of the season.  Hear holiday songs sung by carolers, jazz, Latin and pop artists, dance with a DJ at a holiday themed party and enjoy toy soldier stiltwalkers and other street performers.
  • Santa Chalet is open daily to share your list and have a photo taken with  jolly old St. Nick
