Bubbly Fun at Velluto Champagne Bar

For a more swish alternative to the local pub, or even the regular wine bars that seem to be popping up all around the city, make sure you check out Velluto. Even the name sounds fancy!champagne

Not just a wine bar, Velluto is also champagne bar. All the best imported drops make the cut, including Louis Roederer NV and Dom Ruinart Blanc de Blancs. The local sparkling varieties aren’t forgotten either. The friendly barmen are also the owners, so if you can’t decide on a tipple make sure you ask them for advice. These boys really know their bubbles.

If you’re not a champagne drinker there isn’t a great deal of choice, but you still won’t go thirsty. They serve a handful of boutique beers and a couple of martinis, so you should find something to suit.

Unlike many wine bars in the city, Velluto doesn’t serve meals. There are nibblies though, including olives, pâté, a selection of cheese, and ice-cream for the sweet tooths. Or if you’d rather spend your cash on the booze, you can enjoy the complimentary cashew nuts.
