Are you a Holmes or a Watson? If you are, the Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes is offering you a free drink for every one you buy at Sherlock’s Bar till 30th December. You’ll need photo ID (passport or driving licence) to claim.
The bar is rather reminiscent of a gentleman’s club, with its well stuffed armchairs and dark wooden bar – and the hotel is just around the corner from 221b Baker Street, the fictional detective’s bachelor pad which is now the Sherlock Holmes Museum.
And if you’re not a Holmes, nor a Watson, but simply a fan of the great detective, you’ll be interested in a microsite that tourist authority VisitBritain has put together – including a Sherlock Holmes London itinerary, and details of where the new Sherlock Holmes movie was filmed so you can take a tour of the locations.
Meanwhile it occurs to me that the offer from the Park Plaza is manifestly unfair. It simply is not right that only Holmeses and Watsons should benefit. It is unjust. It is discriminatory. And it is wrong.
There should be free drinks for Moriarty’s too!
