Participants will brave the never-before-run course through multiple Disney theme parks, with the finish line inside the Epcot Food & Wine Festival for an exclusive after-hours party. The half-marathon will offer a two-person relay-option and is open to ages 14 and older.

Not up for the run?  Spectators can purchase tickets to the party and help kick off the 15th annual Epcot Food & Wine Festival.

Events  planned for the entire weekend include:

  • Weekend long Health and Fitness Expo being held at Jostens Center at Disney/ESPN’s Wide World of Sports Complex
  • Disney Kids’ Races held at the Sports Complex the morning of Oct. 2
  • Mickey’s Halloween Family Fun 5k through Magic Kingdom the morning of Oct. 2
  • Wine & Dine Half-Marathon held the night of Oct. 2

Registration for the Half-Marathon begins on November 16, 2009.  To reserve a spot or for more information visit disneywinedinerun.com.

While I am not a runner myself, I have proudly stood on the sidelines of the start/finish line to cheer my own Disney Travelers on as they have participated in several half-marathons in several states.  However, the thought of the Food & Wine Festival and all the delicacies waiting for me at the finish,  just might be the cannoli … er, I mean, carrot to dangle in front of me!!
