Spending the Night at Walden Plantation in Llano, Texas

DSC_1310ps_WebWaldenPlantation Perhaps it’s the river or maybe it’s the Spanish Hacienda-style southern plantation house.

It could be something as large as the overall atmosphere or as small as the breakfast tacos.

As you can tell, there are many reasons to spend a night (or two) at Walden Plantation.

Located outside of Llano, Texas proper and in Texas Hill Country, owner Brian Walden doesn’t hesitate to say that the 16-room property is “probably the nicest bed and breakfast in Texas.”

“With all of our amenities, we are like a mini-resort in a bed and breakfast setting.”

Situated on 17-acres, Llano River is the focal point. There’s opportunities to fly-fish, kayak, swim, or just relax and enjoy the views.  DSC_1017WaldenPlantationLlanoRiver

Also at Walden Plantation, you’ll find a pool and a hot tub, as well as a practice putting green.

If you rather explore the area around you, the property is about nine miles west of Llano and 36 miles from Fredericksburg. Also, the well-known Texas Hill Country Wine loop is nearby.

As previously mentioned, the house itself has 16-rooms that include two suites. The rooms have everything you would expect from a hotel; and yes, that means Wi-Fi and LCD TVs, among other things.

Breakfast is served in the adjoining Guest House. There’s also a lunch and dinner menus available. Out at the pool area, you’ll find a poolside bar.
