The Mission District
The Mission District in San Francisco is the city’s new hot spot with a prevailing artist and hipster scene. The Mission is mainly comprised of Latinos, with many Latin restaurants scattered throughout the area. The Mission District is much cheaper for housing and commercial space compared to the rest of San Francisco, so there are many restaurants and bars in the vicinity attracting many young crowds from around the city. This area is worth checking out for the authentic Mexican food, hipster cafes, cheap bars, and the cool hipster vibe. Many thrift stores are also in the area.
Explore the vibrant hipster murals and artwork dispersed all over the area, or go have a tasty vegan entrée at one of the gastronome café’s. Do not expect to find any commercial stores in this area, as the used clothing stores dominate. Relax in the Dolores Park that boasts breathtaking views of San Francisco Bay. For a place to hang out that is out of the ordinary, The Mish is the place for you.

Here is a list of popular places located in The Mission:
Café Gratitude: head here for healthy vegan dishes.
Precita Eyes Muralists: walking tours by the organization that maintains the Mission’s striking murals.
Medjool: an entertainment complex holding a café, bar, restaurant, hotel, and rooftop terrace with a trendy atmosphere.
Papalote: go here for amazing vegetarian burritos, beer, and low prices.
Limon: trendy Peruvian style restaurant.
Galeria de le Raza: Latino themed art and the main hotspot for the arts scene in The Mission.

I love the Mission district. I always thought it was the hottest spot in San Fran. I’ll have to make a return visit and check out your suggestions.
Thanks,
