Deals and Packages to Get You Traveling in the South

With the holidays around the corner, it’s time to start making some plans. There are deals to be found in nearly ever part of the South.

Here’s a few to consider.

Thanksgiving packages

• Turkey Day at the Beach sounds like a perfect way to spend the holiday with your family. Various properties along Panama City Beach, Fla., are offering Thanksgiving holiday deals. Better hurry, though, because you need to book soon.
• Biltmore in Coral Gables, Fla., is offering a Thanksgiving Bed and Breakfast package that includes a VIP welcome amenity upon arrival and more.
• Orlando World Center Marriott Resort is offering special rates per night for those booking in advance for both Thanksgiving week (November 22-29), and Christmas and New Year’s (December 10 -  January 2, 2010.) The entire family can enjoy all types of seasonal activities at the property during this time as well.
• Spend the holiday at Port D’ Hiver Bed and Breakfast in Melbourne, Fla. The property is offering a three-night package that includes a VIP Thanksgiving dinner for two at Chart House and more.
• Enjoy a beach Thanksgiving or a beach Christmas at The Winds Resort Beach Club in Ocean Isle Beach, N.C. Breakfast is included, so just bring the turkey and trimmings.

Christmas/December Holidays packages

• The TradeWinds Island Resorts (Island Grand Resort & Sandpiper Suites) in St. Pete Beach, Fla., is the place to celebrate the holidays. From December 23-31, not only can you enjoy various holiday activities, but also a special per night rate.
• Chateau on the Lake Resort & Spa in Branson, Mo., is offering an “Ozark Mountain Christmas Package,” November 7 – December 30. The package features two-night accommodations, $50 food and beverage credit, a special Chateau Christmas ornament among other amenities.

General packages

• It’s a package that is too sweet to resist. Sofitel Miami is offering the I Love Chocolate getaway. Stay two nights and get the third night free, and enjoy indulging in chocolate on an afternoon of your choice. Package is available through January 31, 2010.
• Thinking about spending a weekend in Springfield, Mo.? Before you plan anything, you need to check out the “Sneakaway” to Springfield promotion. Through January 31, you can take advantage of special rates and more.
• EPIC hotel, located in downtown Miami, Fla., is offering a package geared to those who are planning to attend Art Base Miami Beach in early December. Book a suite or club-level room for three nights and receive the fourth night free.
• Enjoy the Staunton Bed and Breakfast package at Stonewall Jackson Hotel and Conference Center in Staunton, Va. Package include overnight accommodations, parking and breakfast for two.
