Top Chef Winner Stephanie Izard is Set to Open Her New Chicago Restaurant

Top Chef Season 4 winner and Chicagoan Stephanie Izard is scheduled to open her new restaurant, the Drunken Goat, in January 2010. The location will be in Wicker Park, and the ambiance is described to be “downscaled, yet trendy.” Dining2

The restaurant will focus on “shared plates” with Spanish and Italian dishes. The restaurant is named after a Spanish dish called a “Drunken Goat,” which is an artisan Spanish goat cheese with a wine-soaked rind, said to be one of Izard’s favorites. While on Top Chef, Izard said she is a lover of wine and cheese, items  you can bet will  be on the Drunken Goat’s menu.

Izard is partnering on the Drunken Goat with Rob Katz and Kevin Boehm, the masterminds behind some of Chicago’s restaurant success stories, including Boka, Landmark, and the new Perennial.

To promote the opening, Izard is hosting monthly Wandering Goat dinners. While this month’s dinner is sold out, be sure to check out Izard’s Web site for future dates.
